July
14th
July
4th may have been a while ago, but it turned out to be a great
holiday! K’s family drove into town to spend the weekend with us, and we
decided to cram in as much fun as possible. Okay, so maybe the bunnies helped
plan the schedule… games movies, and fun (Whoa, there goes a horse drawn
carriage outside my window right now, led by a dapple gray pony!. And a very
friendly looking black shaggy dog. Maybe I ought to say hello. J …they seemed quite nice, the Pony
allowed as she was nervous, as it was her first job, but her master declared
she was doing a right nice job. The black dog’s name is Sir. A rather formal
name, but he was a formal dog. Shook my paw and everything. The pony broke into
a slow trot as her master led her in circles as part of her training. It’s
quite fun watching her ears perk up and move this way and that.) *ahem* where
was I? Oh yes, July 4th. We all went to bed late, and woke up early
for the first part of our adventure: Kayaking! We brought a veritable flotilla
of boats, and more food than 35 starving pooches could munch and settled down
in the park. We all took turns on the boats, and while my paws didn’t quite
master the art of kayaking, I could canoe paddle fairly well. After a nice long
lunch, we packed up and headed to the Fort for more fun and games. The Fort had
plenty of booths and activities, and the fireworks display was amazing. It
seemed like the whole town was in their element after the Fort, the fireworks
went heavy and fast all over the city for hours. The bunnies didn’t get any
sleep! We let off quite a litter of fireworks ourselves, but wrapped it up
around 11:00 so as not to disturb the peace too much. ;)
Overall,
one of the more enjoyable 4th’s I’ve been too.
